In this performance experiment, I trace with paint, the contours of my body that I see reflecting on the mirror. I then imprint it on paper. This experiment stems from my research into my relations with everyday objects. The mirror is an object that has intimate and affective relations with my body. An object that influences my sense of self or self-image and sometimes induces the sense of alienation, distance and illusion. I explore the ways in which when taken out of the everyday setting, how I can come in relation with the mirror, modifying it as it modifies me, to create a palimpsest 'self image' on paper. This was one of the first experiments of my research where I was looking at the agency of the mirror to affect my body and perception of my self indicating the confluence of materiality and subjectivity as co-affective.
